There’s a road around here that intersects with itself despite it being a separate street.

In my college town, everything running North/South was a numbered Avenue, and East/West was a numbered Street. So you could have North 4th St/West 4th Ave and then also South 4th St/West 4th Ave, and so on. It was terrible.

It’s like that in Edmonton too, but the opposite way around (Avenue = East/West, Street = North/South). So you have intersections like 34th (Avenue) and 34th (Street).

I was in a car accident at the intersection of Kensington Ave and Kensington Ave. That was a fun one to try and describe....

In Abilene (TX), the railroad divides the town between north and south, while Pine St. divides the city between east and west. Streets are then numbered in ascending order north and south of the train tracks. So, 10 blocks north of the tracks and east of Pine street is East North 1oth. It kind of makes sense, but it’s also a bit confusing.

Apparently as new roads were being built between avenues , they were named Road and Drive instead of Avenue, to avoid renaming the avenues.

We’re more romantic about streets, there’s a street called Gutemberg that turns into Mazarik ave. That turns into paseo de las palmas that turns into prolongación paseo de la reforma that then turns into a federal highway... All in around 14 miles

Then there is King St in Kitchener (Ontario). It’s one straight road, but changes names 4 times. King St North, King St South, King St East, King St West.
